This is an original insert movie poster from 1952 for a double-feature titled Face to Face. The idea was to combine two films into one billing under a single title. The first film on the bill was The Secret Sharer (1952) starring James Mason, Gene Lockhart, and Michael Pate. The second film, The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky (1952), is a western starring Robert Preston, Marjorie Steele, Minor Watson, Dan Seymour and Olive Carey.
The unusual double-bill was the idea of Huntington Hartford, the eccentric heir to the A & P Supermarket fortune, who dabbled in film producing in the 1950s.
The poster measures 14”x 36” and is in good to very good condition with a small tear at the top edge of the poster and minor to moderate surface and edge wear. The poster was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters. The poster has been stored flat for many years and will be rolled for shipping in a rigid tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1952 to promote the release of Face to Face, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
