Star Wars (1977)

This is an original, Style D, one-sheet movie poster from 1978 for Star Wars starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, James Earl Jones, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker. George Lucas directed the film. Drew Struzan and Charles White are the artists for the poster.

Star Wars was released on May 25, 1977 in just 32 theaters. The initial release officially lasted until July 20, 1978 (and the film was technically "re-released" the following day on July 21, 1978). This Style D poster, reportedly a favorite of George Lucas, was issued to theaters to promote the ongoing, initial release of the film in July 1978.

The detailed art by Drew Struzan and Charles White makes the poster appear worn and tattered although, upon closer examination, it is not.

The poster measures 27" x 41" and is in very good to excellent condition with minimal edge and fold wear from handling and long-term storage. It was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
