Ben Hur (1959)

This is an original, linen-backed, French grande theatrical movie poster from 1969 for a re-release of Ben-Hur (1959) starring Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins, Hugh Griffith and Haya Haraeet.  William Wyler directed the classic adventure epic.

The poster features artwork similar to artwork used for the 1960 first release in France however the level of detail and overall quality of the artwork is significantly improved in this rare, re-release poster.   It measures 45.75” x 62” and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in very good condition prior to backing with minimal edge wear and some smudges and creases along some of the folds including the one that went through the title. Overall, the folds are less noticeable after linen-backing.
